Victorian selection for 27 Waverley gymnasts


The past month has seen a number of Waverley gymnasts trialling for selection on the Victorian State Team. The standard of competition has been very high and we are very pleased with each and every athlete from Waverley - well done to you all! Double bronze for Emily at Comm Games!


Tuesday 10th April: Waverley's Emily Whitehead has picked up where she left off in the team final, to perform exceptionally in the Vault and Beam apparatus finals at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. Emily's first individual apparatus final was on Sunday 8th April on Vault and she wowed the audience with two amazing vaults, scoring 14.166 and 13.533, averaging the two scores for a final score of 13.849 which earned her the Bronze Medal! Waverley duo selected for Pacific Rim Championships


We are delighted to announce that Waverley's Talia Folino and Kate McDonald have been selected as the two Senior International athletes to represent Australia at the upcoming Pacific Rim Championships in Medellin, Columbia, from April 27th-29th. The prestigious Pacific Rim Championships are held every two years, and feature a number of gymnastics power nations including USA, China and Russia. The competition is unique in that teams are a combination of both Senior International and Junior International athletes. Monash Councillors vote YES!


UPDATE Tuesday 27th March: A big THANK YOU to our Monash Councillors for their leadership, vision and ongoing support tonight in voting for the final $3.3 million needed for the Oakleigh project to go ahead (of which $650,000 was for Waverley). Waverley trio compete at International Gymnix


Congratulations to Waverley's Emily Whitehead, Jade Vella-Wright and Talia Folino who competed at the renowned International Gymnix event, held from March 9th-12th in Montreal, Canada. Competing for Australia in the Senior Cup division, Emily and Jade performed strongly to place 10th and 13th All Around. 2017 Annual General Meeting

Emily Whitehead selected for Commonwealth Games!


Congratulations to Waverley's own Emily Whitehead who has been selected as a member of the Women's Artistic Gymnastics team to represent Australia at the upcoming 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games!! Emily was selected alongside fellow Victorian Alexandra Eade, and Queenslander's Rianna Mizzen, Georgia Godwin and Georgia-Rose Brown. Congratulations as well to Waverley coach and judge, Jessica Haintz, who has been named as one of the Commonwealth Games National Technical Officer's for gymnastics!
