Waverley duo represent Australia in Belgium


After gaining selection on to the Women's National Squad at the recent Australian Championships, Waverley's Emily Whitehead and Kate McDonald have returned to Australia following their first international assignment for 2019. Emily and Kate travelled to Ghent, Belgium to compete for Australia at the Flanders International Team Challenge, which was held on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June. 2019 Australian Championships Wrap-up


The WAG component of the 2019 Australian Gymnastics Championships was held from Monday 20th  – Sunday 26th May at Melbourne Arena. Well done to all of the Waverley gymnasts who were selected to represent Victoria, and put in such wonderful performances – we are very proud of you all! Rhonda is currently working with our Future and Senior International Stream gymnasts, as well as sharing her vast experience and expertise amongst all aspects of the club. Waverley Gymnastics Centre Upgrade


On Tuesday 14th May, Monash Council officially awarded the tender for the redevelopment of the Oakleigh multisport facility (including our new gymnastics facility) to the APM Group Australia. This is very exciting news as it means that building works will commence in the next 4-6 weeks!! The building works are planned to be completed by September 2020 and we cannot wait to move into our amazing new facility!! Romi Brown selected for World Cup!


UPDATE 12th MARCH: It's been a huge few weeks for Waverley's Romi Brown, who competed for Australia at the International Gymnix in Montreal, Canada over the weekend. Romi did an amazing job in her first All Around representation of her country, helping Australia to claim the Bronze medal in the team competition! She was the highest ranking Australian after the first three apparatus, although a fall on Beam in the final rotation saw her finish in 18th position overall. 2018 Victorian Sport Awards


Waverley Gymnastics Centre are incredibly proud to announce that our own John Hart and Jessica Haintz have been selected as finalists for the prestigious VicSport Victorian Sport Awards! Each year the Victorian Sport Awards honour those who have made an outstanding contribution to sport in Victoria as individual or team athletes, coaches, administrators and volunteers from both metropolitan and regional areas in Victoria. 2018 Junior Victorian Championships


The 2018 WAG Level 4-6 Junior Victorian Championships were held across the weekend of Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th November, at Geelong Arena. Waverley was represented by teams at all three levels, following the qualifications at the recent Metro South Regional Championships. It was an incredibly successful weekend of competition, with Waverley gymnasts claiming 3 Victorian Champion Team titles, as well as a combined 28 Individual All Around/Apparatus medals!! 2018 Metro South Regional Championships


The Gymnastics Victoria Metro South Regional Championships were held across the weekend of Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October, co-hosted by Waverley Gymnastics Centre. Waverley had teams competing from ALP 3 to ALP 5, with gymnasts aiming to put their best foot forward in order to qualify for the upcoming WAG Junior Victorian Championships in November. It was an incredibly successful weekend of competition, with Waverley gymnasts claiming six Regional Champion Team titles, as well as a combined 23 individual All Around/Apparatus titles!! Waverley gymnasts selected for 2018 World Championships team


Congratulations to Waverley's Emily Whitehead who competed at the 2018 World Championships in Doha on Saturday 27th October. Emily finished 48th All Around in her first ever World Championships! Although it wasn't the most consistent competition for the Australian team, Emily showed great determination and resilience to compete through illness and finished up having three of her four apparatus scores count towards the team total - awesome effort Em! Women in Sport Breakfast


On Thursday 11th October three of Waverley's up and coming Future International gymnasts - Miella Brown, Sumer Daly and Zoe Nitsiopoulos- had the exciting opportunity to be involved in a ‘Future Star Q&A’ at the annual Women In Sport Breakfast held at the RACV Club in the city.
